Rondo a la Byzantine necklace in Brass and Black
Rondo a la Byzantine necklace in Brass and Black
Rondo A La Byzantine necklace in Brass with Black anodized aluminum.
simple necklace description: this weave looks like a dense complex lace with a scalloped edge. it uses 2 different sizes of brass rings with one size of black rings that resemble inlaid jewels.
complicated necklace description: the top part of the necklace is made using Helm Chain. Helm Chain uses two ring sizes, the bigger size is in Brass and never intersects with each other, instead they are connected with smaller black anodized aluminum rings . floating sandwiched between each of these bigger rings is another bigger brass ring that is an orbital ring. coming off of the helm chain are units of byzantine weave that are all parallel to each other. The Byzantine chain weave is made up of single units of Box Chain 4 in 1 separated by connector rings which reverse the direction of each subsequent Box cell. In this version, the connector rings are tripled and in black anodized aluminum, with the rest of it in brass. Then the bottom box is connected to its’ neighbor parallel byzantine unit to create a zig zag/ scalloped edge.
18 inch long necklace (let me know if you need it longer to fit your neck!)
lobster claw clap is the default (let me know if you need another type of clasp).
the weave was invented by my amazing teacher Rebeca Mojica!
